The perfect day!

There are just some days that you wish could go on and on. Yesterday was one of those days, what I call "the perfect day".

A week or so ago Jenn called and asked what was involved in blessing a baby in the LDS church. I explained it to her the best I could and she said that they, her and Steven, had decided they wanted to have that done. Wade and I had asked her about it a few times right after Braidyn was born but with no response had decided to let it drop. She asked if it could be done in our ward, since they are not participating in any religion at the moment, and if it could be done on March 11, 2012 when Braidyn would turn six months. I called Wade to let him know that they had requested the blessing and that it be done by him, Wade. Later Wade shared with me how emotional that had made him to know that he would be able to perform that blessing for his grandson. Those who attended the blessing were apart of the emotions Wade was still having to be able to do this for Braidyn.

I then went to my saving hole, which my entire house has become, and pulled out the two sealing/blessing outfits of Travis and Kyle. Kyle was 18 months when we were finally able to have him sealed to us and bless him. I think he sat on a chair for that blessing. His cute little white outfit was definitely way to big for little Braidyn. Travis, on the other hand, was 6 months old when we had him sealed and blessed. I mentioned to Jenn I had that little white tuxedo and if she would like to use it. She said yes. It was a little big on Braidyn, because Travis was a little chunk at 6 months, but would work just fine.

Because I am a little protective of some items I have saved, and other reasons, I was hesitant to give the outfit to Jenn. Wade, being the smart level headed man he is, suggested they come to our home Sunday morning to get him dressed. Perfect solution. That would also mean I would get to help get the little guy dressed for this special moment. Of course as soon as we got him dressed he spit up on the jacket. Oh well, that's what baby's do. Wipe him and the jacket down and he was good to go.

It is a wonderful feeling to see all the support that both mine and Wade's family give. The emotions for both Wade and I ran high yesterday. Of course, Wade gave a beautiful blessing to Braidyn. A friend in the ward took the blessing down and sent us a copy. After the block meeting we had dinner for the family members that could stay and others that could join with us later. I just love being with family. The fun part was we had Braidyn all day long. It was a long, exhausting day but wonderful.

Ever since we found out that this little guy was going to be born there have been a lot of ups and downs. It was a continual roller coaster wondering if we would allowed to be a part of his life. When Jenn and Kyle split up and we were told that we would have nothing to do with the baby our hearts broke and there were many tears shed. Thanks to a lot of answered prayers we have been able to be an active part of his life. We would want it no other way. Braidyn is now a part of our hearts.
