September 10, 2012 Email

Dear Mom and Dad,
Hello!
Just so you know, my health is better and better.  I still have a cough, but its not nearly as bad as it was.  My other cold symptoms are almost gone.  As for my legs, my ankles and knees are still tender, but the sole inserts have helped me a lot.  Its seemed to have taken a lot of the pressure off my ankles.  Most of the inflamation and swelling in my legs have decreased, which is the best improvement so far.  I just have to watch what I eat, keep my feet warm and elevated when at all possible, and not do anything reckless.  I was actually going to ask you about setting up a doctor's and dentist's appointment, thanks for the initiative.  When is my dentist's appointment set for?  I want to write it in my planner.  (Yeah, I have a little 2 year planner that I'll start using in November.)  You can set me an appointment with Doctor Nelson if you'd like, and with the eye doctor if you want to.  Just leave November 7th open, I'll be registering for school on that day.
I find it so hard to believe that Braidyn is already one years old!  So far, I've seen his entire life through pictures and emails.  It will be exciting to see him.  I love serving as a missionary, and I'm grateful for the people I've been able to help in Taiwan.  But I'm really excited to see my family and friends again.  I mostly think about you, Braidyn, the Baird family, and Nick.  I'm not trunky or anything, this is the most dilligent and focused I've been my entire mission.
Our mission has a really interesting goal right now, we have a goal to talk to one hundred thousand people by the end of the month.  Its really exciting, because every companionship will need to work hard and be dilligent.  Our mission has 10 zones, and every zone has set a goal to contribute to the mission goal.  Every district has a district goal to contribute to the zone goal, and every companionship sets goals to contribute to the district goal.  We hope to see more dilligence and unity in the zone by the end of the month.  Our zone goal is 11,000, currently it looks as if we will slay our goal.  The best part is when the number is focused on our purpose.  By talking to more people, we are inviting more people to come unto Christ.  It makes me happy to think that we are giving so many people the opportunity to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  In my own companionship, our dilligence in talking to everyone has helped us find more teaching opportunities and find more new investigators.  Its a really good experience.  But man, I was so tired on Sunday night.  Haha!
Thanks for sending me the information about the elections, that gives me a better idea of what is going on.  I'm excited, it sounds like it will be a really close election.  From my perspective, that makes it a lot more fun.  I was thinking about running for city government next year.  I still have a lot I'd need to figure out.  Honestly, I don't know too much about city government as I should.  But it would be a good learning experience and a good way to learn about the community that I live in.  It would also be good practice for the future.  I'm still thinking about it, we'll have to see.
Well, I love you.  Have a great week!
