Dear Mom and Dad,
WELL, here is some more about Elder Eliason. He is from Redding, California, which is a few hours north of Sacremento. He's been on island for just over a year, so he's over the hill. His big dream is to race cars, so guess what he talks about all day? Cars!!! He's a pretty goofy guy, but we get along well.
OOh, here's some big news. We got air conditioning! The coldest setting we're allowed to set it to is 77 farenheit, and it feels like walking into a fridge. Yeah, that's where I live. We've had a few days of prostelyting in the rain, that is an adventure.
I went turtle hunting today, that was disappointing. Those suckers are fast!! I have a "Babylon list" of things to do when I get to America, which includes buying a turtle. Mhmm.
So, I got a question. A lot of missionaries will buy little computer translators after they pass off Phase 1 (which I'm doing tomorrow.) They can be a little pricey, 100 to 200 in American. But their cool, they have multiple languages and functions and stuff, with a dictionary and it defines characters if you write them. Is there any way you'd consider that?
You should give me the list of Presidential Candidates...Hahaha!
I did get the card from grandma! I wrote her a letter, but I have lost my stamps. Dang it. I'll send it as soon as I have stamps.
So I might meet an Apostle on Friday. We're all going up to Taizhong on friday, and Elder Jensen of the Seventy is definitely there. The flyer I saw and what I heard says David A Bednar will be there as well. We'll see.
I did get the package, thanks! Its the wrong kind of bottoms, and I like them more! So hurray! And peanut butter! Man, you guys know me.
We had a mission fireside on saturday, it was in our ward put on by, well, us. It went well, I wrote a song on prep day in Chinese and played it at the fireside. I felt pretty accomplished.
I can't think of anything else to tell you about. Oh yeah, I have an investigator who sees ghosts. Pretty cool.
Love you,
-Elder Travis Leatham
ps. If I don't get around to sending a letter, tell Jodi and Trevor congrats!
