After planning and worrying for months the time finally arrived for our trip to Taiwan. Ready or not it was upon us. While planning we had decided we needed to pack as light as possible because we would be moving every 3 nights. Moving meant using the metro and bus system to get from place to place dragging our luggage behind us. Travis and Wade kept telling me I had to get everything in a carry on. But, I was also in charge of all the toiletries we needed to take and there was no way it would fit, or get through security, in a carry on. In the end I did take a medium size suitcase, and did check it.
Our flight left Salt Lake at 9:20 P.M. on Thursday. We flew to San Francisco, arriving at 11:12 P.M. and leaving there at 1:05 A.M. to Taipei, Taiwan arriving on Saturday September 21 (losing a day) at 6:00 A.M. All our flights were on time without incident. The San Francisco airport would not let us use our boarding passes I had printed from home so we had to check in again and they needed to weigh our carry on luggage. One of ours weighed more than the limit so we had to take out items and put them in our back packs and the other carry on to make it work. This made the two backpacks very heavy to carry. I thought it was crazy because regardless of which bag the items were in the total weight was the same. Whatever!
The flight to Taipei was extremely long. The four of us tried to sleep as much as we could knowing we would be wasted if we didn't. We were still wasted.
