Dear Mom and Dad,
Well, this week hasn't been too interesting; in fact, I probably will seem a little somber. The past few weeks have been tough, but I've learned a lot from it.
Most importantly, I've learned a lot about what it means to be a successful missionary. Preach my Gospel pages 10 and 11 have helped me a lot. When I was trained as a missionary, I very much felt like being successful meant baptizing. In Tainan and Donggang, that wasn't a big problem, we had a pool of investigators and were able to see a lot of success. Now I'm serving in an area which is requiring a lot more of planting seeds, as opposed to harvesting. That's okay I guess. I've learned that as long as I am dilligent, worthy, and obedient, I can be happy with my work, and the Lord will be happy with my service. So that's what I'm trying to do.
Something of interest, I bought a crazy looking house plant, it keeps me interested.
I got your package, thank you so much!!! I really appreciate all the great things you've sent to me, especially the pictures! Make sure to thank everyone that contributed. My Taiwanese companion is now convinced that Americans are crazy, haha! The cookies are good, my companion is trying to lose weight, so I have them all to myself. Mehehe.
Hey, you guys didn't send me a letter!!! I usually send my emails in the morning here, so if you don't write quickly, I usually won't get them in time. Anyways, I hope everything is going well on your side of the Pacific. I love you all, and I pray for you everyday.
