This week was a very sad week for a friend and her family. Her son took his own life on Tuesday afternoon. A bright young man with a great future ahead of him. I am so grateful that I have never had to experience that kind of despair and darkness. Feeling that the only way out is to end life. I cannot even imagine the grief and pain her and her husband must feel.
It was truly wonderful to see so many family and friends rally around them each day. Every time I was privileged to go over during the week someone was there to laugh and mourn with the family.
At times like this it makes me so grateful for my testimony of the gospel. That Christ atoned for our sins. That we will see and talk to those who have gone before us. Death is still hard and painful but there is always light. Even if to us it is dim at times. It is there.
We have a Heavenly Father who loves us and just wants us to ask for help and guidance in times of trial and rejoice with him in good times.
I pray for my friend and her family that they may, in time, find comfort and peace.
