Dear Mom and Dad,
I must say, my nephew Braidyn is really adorable. I like him! I look forward to the chance to get to play with him. The way the name is written on the Calligraphy is correct.
Taiwanese elections are really boring. I predicted everything. President Ma Ying Jiu won the election by 53%. Cai Ying Wen will not be the first woman president of Taiwan. President Ma didn't do enough for people to dislike him. That is about it. I did nag a few campaign flags they are actually pretty cool.
So last week I stopped by the post office to mail something to the office. There also happens to be a little booth where the bank is. I heard some yelling, and when I looked over, I saw this dude with a gun robbing the teller! The teller told him not to shoot, filled a bag with money, and the guy ran out. This is the two crazy parts: First, after the guy ran out, everyone just went back to work, as if nothing happened! And people just kept working on their bank accounts, sending stuff through the mail, etc. I asked the guy working at the post office if it was real, and he said "Ah, New Year's. Money." Okay...the other thing, the dude robbing the place had his friend there, no mask, filming it! SO we don't know if it was real or not, but man, it was sure interesting.
So we rode out to our secondary area the other day...and my companion's bike got a flat tire. It was ridiculous. He rode to Yuanlin with a flat tire, but it was Sunday, so we couldn't do much. Then we rode to RT Mart this morning, bought the kit to fix it, and failed to fix it for an hour. Finally, we went to eat lunch at a member's house, who also lives half an hour a way, and they fixed it all in about 10 minutes. Hahaha! Anyways, we had an interesting day.
New Year's is just starting, but it has been pretty dang interesting. We keep waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of explosions. All...night...long...!!! But we eat with members every day, its really fun. I'll tell you more about it next monday, when its all wrapping up.
I love you! Have a nice week!
