Dear Mom and Dad,
DOWN WITH THE BRITISH! I've been yelling pro-American phrases for the past few days, much to the confusion of the Taiwanese people on the street. Yes, we are very excited to be celebrating the 235th anniversary of the United States of America. There definitely nothing interesting or special going on in Taiwan, but we're finding things to do. We went and ate pancakes at McDonald's this morning! And we're going to lunch with our Elder's quorum president, Steve. He has really good English, he lived in Canada for 10 years, and because he works for an American company, no work today!
GOD BLESS AMERICA! Great news, my good friend Wu Zhi Feng passed his baptismal interview, and requested me to baptize him. It was great, he's been an investigator for about 4 months. He was able to be baptized this past Saturday, and man, he really has changed a lot the past 4 months. It is amazing how much living a gospel life really can change people.
LET FREEDOM RING! Wait, who is Michelle Bachman? The name sounds morbidly familiar. I guess its okay, anyone who wants to run is more than welcome to. We all know Obama will be a wonderful 2 term president.
Here's a few answers to your questions:
We do English class as our form of service. Its much more effective, people acually get baptized by starting to attend english class. We also rotate companionships for singing at a hospital every week.
I am serving in a threesome for the time being. I have definitely moved, I am now in the 2nd ward in Tainan Dongqu. So basically, I moved accross the street. They are looking to have a short term missionary come in, and he will be Elder Eliason's companion. But for now, I am with Elders Eliason and Jensen. The area has definitely not closed, we just combined for the time being.
There was this one time I got food poisoning, and I think it was from eating Papaya. So every time I think about Papaya, I feel sick.
So guess who crashed their bike again? Me! I'm not going to give details, but I'll definitely send some knarly pictures. I'm pretty sore and I don't have a lot of energy, but no broken bones or stitches, and my bike is fine, which is definitely the most important thing for me.
So, I'm thinking about something, and its funny that I'm even thinking about it. I might look into the Air Force ROTC at the University of Utah. I'd graduate college as an officer in the Air Force, and its obviously a paid job, plus tuition is taken care of. I'd have to be in the Air Force for something like 4 years after graduating college. But hey, I'll be an officer in the Air Force, its not like I'll die. I'll basically sit at a desk in a uniform. Especially with the ability of speaking Chinese. Just a thought. If you could do me a favor, and get in contact with the U of U ROTC and mail me the information about the program, that'd be great. Or find the info online and put it in an email. Dou keyi.
Oh, other business. I asked sister Bishop about music, she said no to Matisyahu. Sad. But the Japanese and Chinese music is alright. SO, if you'd like to burn some of my music onto CD's, that'd be cool. Mhmm.
I'm hungry, we're going for pizza today. Yeah! I love you, and I miss you every week on Monday when I write this email to you. Have a great week.
