A friend of Wade's, Pam, snowmobiles with a group called "Rocky Mountain Sledders". Every year this group has a day when they invite friends and family who do not snowmobile to come and try it out. She had asked Wade months ago if he thought we would like to do this in March. Of course he said yes. That day finally arrived.
Since winter fun is not something we do much as a family, we needed to borrow the proper clothing. Which was a good thing because it was a bit cold. It snowed on us and the sun also came out for a while so it turned out cold but fun. Thanks to all those who lent us the proper attire. It worked great.
They had about 40 snowmobiles that people could ride. When we got there, about 11:30 a.m., they had just sent the first group out and they only had two machines at the moment. So we doubled up and took off in an open area to get the feel of how to manuever them. Travis was a bit nervous to be by himself so he went with Richie and I went with Wade. It was not to long that Pam brought another one out so Wade and I had our own. Just like a kid, and I was really enjoying having my own, Travis decided he wanted one of his own. So, like an unselfish mom, I was back with Wade.

After we got a feel for them Pam took, just the four of us, on a great ride. It was so much fun. Since Wade and I do not know what we are doing, we did have one little bit of a scary moment. Pam had taken us over a hill and then turned around to go back up the hill. Our machine would not turn properly to get us back up the hill and we kept sliding to the left. At one point we were fighting it so hard we almost tipped the machine. We finally just let the machine go the way it wanted and met the other three at a different spot on the ride. Pam then told us what we had needed to do, but we didn't know. Everthing turned out just fine. The scenery was beautiful and the snow great. They even had lunch for us after our ride. It was a great way to spend the day at Strawberry.
You can't tell but Pam has a Pink Mohawk on her helmet.
